‘Here’s to love and laughter…’

Whether you’re single or spoken for, don’t forget Valentines Day is a day to celebrate love – and love can be celebrated with your ‘bestie’ or your ‘bae’!!

With this delightful day just around the corner we decided to put together a little something to help add a little love to your day!

Its long been known, Valentines Day is stereotypically celebrated with flowers! And why not!? Flowers are beautiful. But to avoid making them feel cliché and to avoid having to buy them at the corner petrol station shop, put a little thought into your flowers this year, and make them a little more special.

Here are some ideas to get you thinking:

You can find great flower bouquets at affordable prices using a florist on The Event Bubble.

  1. Roses

Not surprisingly these are the most popular Valentine’s Day flowers. And indeed they should be – with their beautiful scent and strong associations with romance they make for a wonderful gesture on a day to celebrate love. But don’t forget, red isn’t the only rose you get! Have you thought about what message you’re trying to send across this Valentines? Pick a color that accompanies that and for example – surprise your best friend with a chic pastel color to say ‘I love you’ without a romantic connotation.

  1. Carnations

With their long lasting quality and affordable price, these ruffle flowers are an awesome pick for your special someone. Carnations are associated with fascination and with a range of color tones available they make for a lovely choice on Valentines Day.

  1. Red tulips

These beautiful flowers have are known to be a declaration of love in the Victorian language of flowers, making them quite the statement despite their very simple but elegant appearance. Known to mean a ‘perfect love’ they are popular flowers on this day.

  1. Daisies

‘She loves me, she loves me not, she loves me…’ We’ve all sat in the garden and played!! But that is where this flower initially got its association with innocence and purity. Perfect for a friend or a loved one, because not only do they have a sweet underlying meaning but they can undoubtedly spread joy through their bold and bright colors.

  1. Lilies

One of my favorites! They smell divine and through a sophisticated but elegant look (echoed by the association with beauty), they make an ideal blossom for an elegant special someone.
